While sasi has been advocating with state legislators, the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, and the Governor’s Office to stop the funding cuts that we have had to endure over the past 10 years, we can no longer wait. We have increased the starting wage for our Direct Support Professionals to $15 per hour to combat a severe staffing shortage.
“The past 16 months have been extremely difficult for everyone, especially our DSP’s,” said sasi President and CEO Anthony Annunziato. “The pandemic has only served to exacerbate the existing staffing shortage.”
While new hires will start at $15 per hour, current employees are also receiving a raise. Sasi will also continue to advocate for increased funding from New York State so we pay our DSP’s their true value for the tireless and most difficult work that they do.
We have many job openings available that come with excellent benefits, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401K contributions, tuition assistance, and paid training.
