The Town of Cheektowaga is the new home of sasi, as the organization recently opened its newest facility on Kelly Drive.
On Wednesday, June 4, sasi held the grand opening of its Kelly Drive facility, which houses a day program, clinic, and the Moving Miracles Dance Studio. By the end of the year, the Personal Training Program is expected to return in that location.
After purchasing the building, sasi sold its West Seneca Day Hab on Indian Church Road to the SPCA and moved the day program from that building to the new one in Cheektowaga. It also moved Moving Miracles from its location at Southgate Plaza.
“We thought, wouldn’t it be neat to put all of that under one roof,” said sasi President and CEO Jeff Paterson. “This might just be the place to do that. So we went for it.”
“Having a space that we are able to make our own has made the studio feel more like a home,” added Macey Doe, director of Moving Miracles. “We love the natural lighting and fresh air at this building, as we did not have that at the prior leased space. It is also really nice to have Kelly Drive DayHab right down the hall, as it really makes for a great atmosphere!”
The move was made possible with the help of former New York State Assemblymember Monica Wallace, who secured funding to be used in remodeling the building.
“The best part of the move to this building was, for me, has been visiting and hearing from the people we support about how much they love it here,” Paterson said.
