Sarah Young and Jesslyn Benning are heroes! Sarah, a Day services Manager, and Jesslyn, a DSP, recently saved the life of one of the people we support at our Elma Day Hab. Jesslyn recognized that the young man was choking and immediately called a Code Red. Sarah jumped in and performed the Heimlich Maneuver. That wasn’t easy, since the man was in a wheelchair, but Sarah had been trained on how to handle that exact situation.
This morning, we presented both staffers with some sasi swag in a show of appreciation.
