Whether you’ve been humming through a kazoo since childhood or you’re discovering the magic for the first time, today is a perfect day to celebrate this uniquely American instrument—and the incredible people who keep its legacy alive.
What began in 1907 as a hub of American innovation later became a vibrant part of SASI’s mission. In 1985, SASI took the helm of the factory, transforming it into a vocational program designed to teach woodworking, metalworking, and artisan skills to adults with disabilities. Today, more than 30 skilled artisans’ hand‑assemble, hand‑finish, and individually inspect every kazoo that leaves the factory. [sasinc.org]
