The sasi Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce two funding awards in the fourth quarter of 2018, for projects totaling nearly $13,000.
The first funding award is for a Hydraulic Adult Personal Care Changing Table for the Derby Day Program. The new table is adaptive, and able to be adjusted to various heights and inclines, with a safety rail on the exposed side. As the Day Hab has multiple individuals who utilize a changing table, this purchase will promote further independence for those who can transfer themselves, and assist staff with easier, more ergonomically correct transfers.
The second award will fund a curb removal project at the Elma Day Program. The building currently has a concrete curb separating the parking lot from the main entrance and driveway, which makes access to the parking lot difficult, especially during fire drills. Removal of the curb will allow for much greater ease of access to enter and exit the lot as well as the designated handicap parking spots.
