Last month, as part of efforts for Global Community Day, volunteers from Citigroup in Buffalo gave one of sasi’s buildings in West Seneca a much needed facelift.
The volunteers scraped and painted the front façade and sides of the building, and also repainted the doors and trim in an accent color to give the building more visual interest.
“Citi is pleased to be able to assist sasi as part of our Global Community Day. Since Global Community Day began in 2006, Citi employees have donated more than three million volunteer hours worldwide to make a positive impact and deepen relationships with worthy causes in the communities where we live and work,” stated Robin Wolfgang, the Communications Officer at Citigroup Buffalo.
Citigroup has donated their time and effort to sasi on past Global Community Days, and helped with various projects, including: landscaping garden beds, building new gardening boxes, painting doors and trim on residential houses, staining picnic tables, weeding and planting flowers, and much more.
“Our employee volunteers regularly give their time and talent to causes they are passionate about, like sasi,” said Wolfgang. “On Global Community Day, over 100,000 Citi volunteers across 91 countries assisted at more than 1,500 activities. The work we do each year for sasi demonstrates our shared goal of enabling growth and progress for the communities we serve daily—it’s how we operate and what we do across Citi.”
The annual activities associated with Global Community Day focus on a range of local needs – from urban revitalization to environmental conservation to literacy and education.
