SASi’s Vocational Training Program

The Vocational Transition Program provides adolescents with disabilities the training, guidance and opportunities necessary to transition into the competitive workforce, gaining independence, self-sufficiency and the fullest quality of life.

SASi collaborates with Western New York high schools in order to provide services to students with disabilities transitioning from special education programs to independent living. Services include vocational evaluations, work study programs, career assessments, job shadowing, internships, technology training, job coaching and job-placement services. The program provides the skills, guidance and encouragement for this vulnerable yet capable population to succeed in the workforce and in life.

Students are instructed in resume writing, computer skills, interviewing, job expectations, social and workplace conduct, phone etiquette and other training essential to becoming employed, staying employed and becoming a contributing member of society. The program creates opportunities through a process of self-realization in order to reach dreams and achieve goals.
