The SASi Foundation Board of Directors approved the purchase of a 240 square foot concrete patio at the North Blossom IRA. Several of the residents at the home have limited mobility. Currently, there is no area in the back yard for them to safely access to relax and enjoy the nice weather. The concrete patio will give them a place to sit, socialize and enjoy some privacy.
Thanks to a grant from the Foundation, the individuals at the Dake Road IRA will be able enjoy the outdoors more as well. The residents at Dake Rd. requested a retractable awning for their deck. The backyard of the home is wide open with no trees for shade. The residents had tried umbrellas but the property is high on a hill and the wind has destroyed several patio umbrellas. This house serves individuals with some challenging behavioral needs and having another area for recreation, relaxation, socialization and meals will be very beneficial for everyone.
